One Step Closer – The Ritz, Raleigh NC
High‑energy punk intensity that turned the room into a playground
One Step Closer hit the stage at The Ritz on April 9th, 2023, supporting Silverstein—and from the first note, they were already at full throttle. There was no slow build, no easing into the set. They came out energized and stayed that way straight through the final moment, delivering the kind of performance that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go.
Their sound is a sharp, compelling blend of punk rock, emotional melodic harmonies, and raw screamo elements. It’s a mix that hits hard but still carries a sense of musicality, giving their songs both grit and heart. The moment they started, you could feel the crowd’s energy spike. Their music makes you want to jump, move, shout, and release every bit of pent‑up energy you walked in with.
On stage, they were relentless. The band ran the stage like it was their own personal playground—darting from one side to the other, jumping, leaning into the crowd, and making sure every person in the room felt part of the moment. They engaged with fans constantly, creating a connection that felt genuine and electric.
By the end of their set, there was no question they left an impression. One Step Closer didn’t just perform; they made sure people remembered their name. Their energy, their presence, and their sound all came together to create a performance that felt alive, urgent, and unforgettable.
