SMITH & MYERS LIVE! | RITZ

Brent Smith and Zach Myers are currently doing a small tour to promote their self-titled EP called “Smith & Myers”.   If you are not sure who Brent and Zach are, they are two parts of a four-piece rock band called Shinedown.  Brent and Zach bring a great mixture of acoustic originals and piano driven covers which really encompass the E. P’s great sound.  One of our favorite songs off the E.P is their cover of “Rockin in the Free World” which was originally sung by the legendary Neil Young.  Another great cover is “Sledgehammer” which was originally performed by Peter Gabriel.   Some of our other favorite songs on the EP include “Bad at Love”, “One More Time” and “Not Mad Enough”.
We covered their tour stop in Raleigh NC at the Ritz Music Venue.

Brent and Zach brought a very laid back and relaxed mood to the venue.  There were no bright lights or explosive pyrotechnics, it was just two microphones, a few guitars and a piano.   They did have a great supporting act called “JR Moore & Zack Mack”.  They sounded great and really started off the night with a joyful vibe.   After JR and Zack got the crowd ready the lights dimmed, and Zach Myers walked on to the stage followed by Brent Smith.  The crowd embraced them with open arms.  Both Brent and Zach talked with the crowd and seemed very happy to be there.  Brents voice sounded great, and Zach brought his fun enthusiasm to the stage with each guitar lick.  If you are wanting to see a relaxed and very personal performance by these two legendary rock musicians, then you don’t want to miss this tour.  Be sure to check out their EP as well, it is a really great EP.
